As a way to get back into writing, I am willing to share a personal piece I wrote as a final project for a class - yes,it revolved around Shakespeare. Yes, it was an easy A, but the instructor made it fun. So, as a way to end writers block, and to open my mind to more ideas, here's my poem.

"Twas it not as easy

To love a wounded bird from afar?

'Twas it not easy to sense the

False mirage that scented the room

With rotting trust; oh the trust

In my brotherhood has cornered my mind so abruptly.

'Twas my luck to entrust whom I thought was friend, but as the sun descends,

And darkness ascends; it reveals the behaviors, the more vulgar they are, of the devil himself,

The devil I called friend.

Alas, let thyself rest in forever sleep;

Let death be my final messenger, and carry the wounds and the

Once needed smile to opposite ends of our fate,

For it won't be together."

This is my last piece from my final project for my Shakespeare class. This poem was inspired by Othello, one of the many plays written by Shakespeare during his lifetime. It depicts the final moment between Othello and his wife, Desdemona. Whether this inspires you in some whimsical way, then may it do so as this play was full of enough inspiration to help me write more

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
