Recognized as one of the most prolific and largest movie stars in South Asia, Khan maintains a vast fan base worldwide. Chances are growing up in the United States that you may never ever heard of him. Below are just a few reasons why you should familiarize yourself with the man who has

1. "Biggest Movie Star you've never heard of".

Los Angeles Times elaborated by further describing Khan as "perhaps the world's biggest movie star, period". This is not hard to believe. With 21.2 million plus twitter fans, topping Forbes India's Celebrity List for four years in a row, and The Australia citing his fan base to reach one billion fans. An annual greet from his house itself attracts thousands to just catch a glimpse of the legend.

2. Self- Made Superstar.

Shahrukh Khan embodies the American Dream. Having been raised in a middle-class household in Delhi, Khan entered India's prestigious National School of Drama. Shahrukh then moved to Mumbai in hopes of making it big in Bollywood with little money. His hard work has led to being ranked second in the top 10 richest actors by Fox News Magazine. His estimated net worth is $600 million! Now call that success.

3. Renowned Entrepreneur.

Mr. Khan's immense wealth is rooted in several businesses. One of his largest enterprises is Red Chilies Entertainment which is an entertainment production and distribution company. Brand SRK is a phenomenon which is a byproduct of his success. His immense popularity has made him the face of many successful companies. Khan has endorsed brands including Pepsi, Nokia, Hyundai, Dish TV, D'decor, LUX and TAG Heuer. His presence in television is so big that he is ranked the number one most visible celebrity on television and independently comprises of six per cent share of the television advertisement market.


4. Model Father.

Despite having a busy schedule, Shahrukh Khan always finds time for his children. Through trips to school visits, Khan understands the importance of giving his childhood and perfecting the art of parenting. His youngest son, Abram, has become a social media sensation, thanks to his father's coddling. Shahrukh has shared some of the lessons he has shared with his children and they are nothing short of gold.

5. Philanthropist.

Shahrukh cites the Quran that "if you do charity for a reason it’s not charity". Thus many of his projects aren't picked up by the radar. This is not to say that his generosity has gone fully unnoticed. His humanitarian efforts range from being the ambassador of NGOs such as Pulse Polio, National AIDS Control Organization, Make-A-Wish Foundation in India, and joined UNICEF. He has consistently donated prize money from his cricket team to charity. In 2011, he became the first Indian to be awarded the UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award for his "charitable commitment to provide education for children". In addition, he has adopted five villages in India.

6. Has Earned Numerous Accolades.

Being the largest movie star in the world means that you're no short of articles. Shahrukh has won a total of 222 awards and 102 nominations in his career. He has won fourteen Filmfare Awards, Best Indian Citizen in 1997, the Padma Shri Award, and received Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Legion d'honneur, the highest civilian honors, from France. In addition, he has honorary doctorate the University of Bedfordshire , an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, and was honored with Chubb Fellowship from Yale University.
