Finals In College As told by 'Parks and Recreation'

The three weeks between Thanksgiving break and the end of the semester are probably the longest three weeks anyone can endure. The struggle is so real with last exams, making up the work you put off all semester, dead week, and then finals. And of course we can't forget the countless number of emotions felt during the process. But hey, education is important.

The first day of classes after Thanksgiving break—actually, let's be honest—the whole first week of classes after break.

When your professor reminds you that the project they assigned at the beginning of the semester is due in a few days.

The small glimmer of hope and motivation you get after making it through the first week.

Looking at your old notes like:

When class during dead week is basically your professor saying this:

April is life, Ron is all of us.

When the library is crowded, and you're frustrated and just need to leave to breathe for a second.

When that fifth cup of coffee finally kicks in.

Studying is actually studying.

Studying part two.

When you feel really good about your test and then you get the grade back.

Class during dead week:

When you're at 4.5 pages of your five page paper and have nothing else to offer.

When you realize you still have responsibilities even though school is killing you.

Every day of college, but especially during finals season.

Studying for your math final:

When you've been studying for so long, you're unsure if it's day or night.

Food breaks during a study session:

Pretty much all college students during these three weeks:

But the best part is walking out of your last final like:

Some of us are counting down the days—others the minutes—but in the end, we are all suffering through these three weeks together. Let's hope it goes by quickly.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
