The Best Of SFA's Homecoming Traditions!

Its that time of year again, folks! Stephen F. Austin's Homecoming! Super exciting! This is definitely an exciting time for everyone on campus, and off. As if SFA didn't already have enough school spirit. Get ready, because this week, it'll be through the roof. Along with Homecoming, there are plenty of things to get excited for.

Here are the big ones to look out for:

1. Surfin' Steve goes Purple

Every year, the surfin' Steve fountain water gets dyed purple. Nothing screams school spirit like dyeing the water your school's color. Right?

2. Burning Shirts

If you happen to MISTAKENLY bring another college's shirt to school with you, and God forbid it's orange, SAA will trade your shirt for a proud brand new SFA one. And in the meantime, well burn the other one. Here's this year's shirt!

3. Homecoming Bonfire

So if you've driven by the intramural fields in the past few weeks, you've probably seen massive amounts of pallets being stacked on top of each other. Well, you guessed it; yes, they are for the bonfire on Friday. A long time SFA tradition as well!

4. Bonfire Concert!

Heck yeah! Each year, SAA brings out a special guest to perform at the bonfire the night before the game. This year's guest is Frankie Ballard!

5. The Homecoming Parade

This is a fun one! Right before the game on Saturday, there is a parade put on for all of the Nacogdoches community. Tons of the organizations on campus build floats and get to participate in the parade!

6. The Homecoming Game!

This is an obvious one, but make sure you go out and support the Lumberjacks as they play once again at Homer Bryce on Saturday! Come for 4, stay for 4!

The Unwritten Rules Of "Talking"

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
