7 Signs That You Are Ready for Fall

This is Halloween, this is Halloween....oh wait it's just September? I don't know about you but once September rolls around I am ready for Halloween. The color of my soul is black and orange. If you are like me, here are seven signs that you can relate to.

1. Your friends regret taking you to any store with Halloween decorations.

Let's admit it, one of the best parts of Fall is the decorations. The colors of orange, black, and brown just give you a warm feeling inside. You love looking at the wall decorations, lights, and the costumes. Your friends are just at Walmart to buy milk, but you have a different agenda in mind. They probably have to pull you away from the section by force. They can't picture themselves at the Spirit store with you, that's a nightmare.

2. You aren't afraid to admit that you love pumpkin everything!

The people around you probably roll their eyes at you, but you are okay with that. You know that your pumpkin flavored drink will always be there for you....well I guess for a limited time. You can't wait for Thanksgiving because you know that means all of the pumpkin pie you can eat. You will probably devour so much pumpkin that you won't want it until next fall. Who am I kidding, you will always love pumpkin, it's a part of you now.

3. You can finally break out your Ash Ketchum costume.

Yes, now you can finally wear that costume you've always wanted to! You can go all out and nobody can judge you. Hey, if you want to wear that costume everyday until Halloween, I won't judge!

4.) Your Instagram Is Filled With Leaf Pictures

If you have more pictures of trees than your own selfies, you are probably obsessed with fall. Sure, your friends love your face and all, but nothing beats the colors of fall. NOTHING! So please feel free to share away, I can't wait to see what you can come up with.

5.) You've Trained Your Body for This Very Moment

You have prepared for this season. You have enough sweater/legging combinations in your closet to last you a year. You try to make your room match the same color as fall. You probably have candles that smell like pumpkin and or the woods. With the smells and the temperature you have trained your body to be ready. Yes, you were doing this in July!

6.) You Are Excited for Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus is such a large tradition that it deserves it's own mention. There is something about Hocus Pocus that makes you feel complete. I know you crank out the old VHS tape and continue with your tradition.

7.) You Become Instantly Happy When the First Leaf Falls

You know when Fall is coming, and you are prepared. You have your entire room decked out in Halloween decorations. Everyone around you wonders why you are so happy. You feel like you can finally be yourself. You can fully commit to your inner soul. Fall is the best season and you are ready!

We can all admit that Fall is the greatest part of the year. I can't wait to crank out my Halloween costume and my pumpkin cheesecake milkshakes! Now, if you don't mind me...I have pumpkin pie waiting for me in the fridge.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
