Seven Reasons To Respect A Woman's Right To Choose

Throughout our lives there are many choices we must make. Some choices are easy, like what to eat for dinner, while others are life-altering and earth-shattering. Abortion falls under the category of life-altering. While there are many reasons to disapprove of abortions, there are also many reasons to respect a woman's right to choose to get one.

1. It's not your life or body.

This is honestly a super self-explanatory reason. What gives you the right to decide what a woman should do with her body?

2. It isn't your baby.

If it isn't your baby you shouldn't be allowed to make decisions about what to do with it. You don't have to carry it for nine months or potentially pay child support for 18+ years, therefore you don't get a say.

3. She may not follow your religion.

I understand that many religions frown upon abortions, and if that's your belief, then great. But your religious beliefs may not match up to hers and that's OK too.

4. Basic human respect.

Just accept that people are going to make their own decisions whether you like it or not. So just respect that their life is theirs, not yours.

5. You don't know the whole story.

You don't know the potential consequences of carrying the child to term. It may mean death for the mother and/or child. Even if you do know, see number one.

6. It isn't any of your business.

Plain and simple. If you're still confused see numbers one and two.

7. It isn't easy.

No matter who you are, this isn't a decision that is lightly made. Why make things harder for the woman and judge her for making a decision that is right for her?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
