I've recently come across some home videos that feature my cousins in just about every aspect of my life. Growing up I never would have thought that we would have been as close as we are. They aren't just my cousins, but my best friends.

They supported you through low points

They were there when that boy broke your heart. They were there when that friend walked out of your life. They stood next you as you entered a funeral home for someone you lost too soon. They loved you through the hardest times of your life.

They also experienced the best moments of your life

They were there as you walked across the stage at commencement. They were there when you got your license. They were there when you got accepted to your first college. They were there taking a million photos at prom. They celebrated another birthday with you.

Your friends know of them.

You don't mind if your cousin tags along to hang out with you and your friends. They have been to plenty of parties, fires, and concerts with your friends. Most likely, they were already at your house when you were making plans.

They make family events so much better.

There is no better feeling than seeing your cousin pull up to a family event at the same time. Their presence alone makes its so much more enjoyable. They tell you about all the family drama because you know that your parents won't.

They know everything about you.

They have the embarrassing middle school photos of you. They remember that loser boyfriend you had back in high school. They took care of you when you had your wisdom teeth out.

They were included in your future.

When talking about the next phase of life they are always considered. Even if your relationship ends up long distance, they are there to stay. You have a lifetime of memories together and you are about to have a million more. They are in it for the long haul.

They mean more to you than just a cousin.

Many people will walk in and out of your life. Your cousins are family and they are there to stay. Even after a number of fights, you know in the end they still care. They are the common ground when you and your sibling cant get along. They watched you grow into the person you are today. They have impacted your life in the most positive way.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
