Lately, every morning when I wake up, I am greeted with autumn temperatures, and it has gotten me antsy for full fledged autumn to arrive. (And yes, it is autumn not fall; show the best and most beautiful season some respect.) I have started to anticipate all of autumn's glory and to consider why it is clearly the best season of the year.

1. Bonfires

Some of the best memories are made around bonfires. The flames dance to the song of night, and you can't help but feel unutterably content.

2. Beanies

Not only do they add a grunge look to any outfit and compliment the autumn aesthetic, they are also a quicker alternative to dry shampoo.

3. Autumn Leaves

The sea of green that exists during the summer evolves into a golden and fiery display and illuminates the forests and horizons. The world never feels more alive than when the leaves are celebrating their last weeks before winter.

4. Sweater Weather

You essentially get to wear a snuggie everywhere you go. Its like a socially acceptable blanket.

5. Apple Orchards

You get to pick apples, have a doughnut and cider, and get hopelessly lost in a corn maze. Its the perfect afternoon.

6. Halloween

You get to dress up and eat candy. What more could you want in a holiday?

7. I'll admit it.. Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Call me basic if you wish, but pumpkin spice lattes are quite delicious. So in the words of Donna and Tom, "Treat. Yo. Self."

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
