Inspiration:

  • a good idea

Do you ever feel like your life is not going the way you want it to go? We all do, sometimes. We then feel like there is something wrong with us. We feed into that and see ourselves as failures. We submerge into lazy habits, we lose motivation, we fall into a slump, and just lay underneath our covers in our dirty sweatpants and give up.

I have something to tell you, you magnificent soul. You are not a failure. You are human. You are flawed. You are beautiful. You are, however, making a choice. To be sad. To feel ugly. To feel stupid. To feel lonely. To feel unloved. To feel less then what you deserve to feel.

Instead of making the choice to feel this way, make the choice to feel inspired. What is inspiration, you may ask? it is a spark. A spark in your head to push yourself to do something that will propel you to move forward in some capacity of your life. It is that little extra something that pushes you to make a change. To go to the gym. To put in the extra effort on the essay. To get a job. To make friends. To change the world.

When you are feeling less then your best, read these quotes, put a smile on your face, show some pep in your step, motivate yourself to alleviate that stress, and dress to impress.

1. "You must always have faith in people. And most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself." -Elle Woods, Legally Blonde

2. "Never forget the essence of your spark!" -Taylor Swift

Don't forget it. It's powerful. It is the reason you do what you do. It is why you started doing whatever it is your doing. Feed that spark. Let it grow into a firework.

3. "Nothing is impossible, the word itself even says 'I'm possible!" -unknown

4. "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary." -Vince Lombardi

Nothing in life shouldn't be easy, and neither should your dreams. If you want to succeed, be ready to work.

5. "Stars can't shine without darkness." -unknown

Not everything is going to be perfect all the time. The road to where you want to go in life is not linear. It has curves, and twists, and at times you will feel like you being pushed backwards but you need to be sometimes to prove just how much you want whatever it is in life you want to do.

6. "An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keeping aiming." -unknown

Be that arrow. Shoot for greatness. Shoot for the future.

7. "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: IT GOES ON. "- Robert Frost.

That it does Frost, yes it does.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
