The more places you go and the more people you meet, the more you realize that friend groups everywhere are more or less the same. You or some of your friends may be a variation or a hybrid of some of these types of friends, but you definitely fit in somewhere along this spectrum!

1. The Dog

via Sean Jones

They’re not called “man’s best friend for nothing.” The dog is definitely the most loyal and affectionate member of the group, and is always down to play fetch. Sometimes when you go out, you might have to take care of the dog and pick up its turds, but the dog is always a blast to be around.

2. The Tamagotchi

via WikiHow.com

While the dog is great, sometimes it sleeps when you wanna play or hang out. That’s where the Tamagotchi comes in! Sure, the Tamagotchi is only two-dimensional, and it might die almost immediately for unknown reasons, but it still makes a good partner, and you can always buy a new one.

3. The Kid from Serbia You Play Xbox With

via Xbox.com

This guy is definitely the wild card of your friend group. He always has the most reckless tactics when he plays Call of Duty, and he frequently draws red cards trying to injure other players in FIFA. And don’t get him started on the stories he has about girls he's slept with! It can be difficult to negotiate the six-hour time difference, but getting to play Xbox with Goran is worth it, even if he keeps calling you a “govno,” whatever that means.

4. The Mannequin

via StoreSupply.com

The mannequin is the most stylish friend you have, and he is always wearing the hottest clothes of the season. Also, he is in ridiculously good shape, even though he literally never exercises. The mannequin also likes to keep things fun by pulling pranks, such as making his head fall off.

5. The Cardboard Cutout of Michael Jordan

via eBay.com

This is the superstar of the group that everyone is always fascinated with. After all, he won six NBA titles, was a member of the Dream Team, and had a key role in Home Alone. Sometimes, it’s annoying when he doesn’t answer your questions, such as why he retired at the height of his career to play baseball, or why he grew a Hitler mustache, but this guy brings a lot of credibility to your friend group.

6. The Japanese Body Pillow

via NBC

This is the diva of the group. Of course she is- she’s definitely the prettiest, and her makeup always looks perfect. Sometimes she can be a lot to deal with, but she always has the most entertaining stories (like the time she had a three-way with James Franco and Tina Fey!), so that makes it all worth it.

7. The Buzz Lightyear Action Figure

via amazon.com

This is the friend you have had basically all your life, and he’s practically your roommate. Sure, he can only says the same six phrases all the time, and things got a little weird after that time he saw you masturbate, but his constant optimism and his motto, “To infinity and beyond!” challenge you and inspire you every day.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
