Let me just start off by saying that the entire state of Mississippi is the best thing that God has ever given to this world. Yes, I realize that's a bold statement and no, I will not retract it. Mississippi has the best of everything; the best food, the best-looking girls, the best colleges, and we birthed the best quarterback to ever play football, Brett Favre. I really don't even have to say any more about why Mississippi is so awesome, but rest assured I will.
You're probably asking yourself, "if he loves Mississippi so much, why does he specifically want to settle down on the coast?" Well, I will tell you.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast, commonly referred to as "The Coast" has things that set it apart from the rest of this great state. The most obvious and important, the saltwater fishing.
Mississippi is home to barrier islands that create a body of water called the "Mississippi Sound", an area in between the islands and the actual coastline of the state. This makes a safe haven for saltwater game fish, which makes it home to some of the best speckled trout, flounder, and red fish fishing in the south.
People travel from all over the country to fish the waters of Mississippi, but if you live there then it's right outside your back door.
I could honestly write an entire article about the fishing, so I'll just talk about something different before I get carried away.
Now, onto the food.
I have traveled to every major city in this state and even to some that most people have never heard of. I have never had food that was even half as good as the food on the coast.
Restaurants that serve fresh caught gulf seafood are hard to come by once you get north of Hattiesburg. I'm talking boiled shrimp, crawfish, charbroiled oysters, and the list goes on.
The food is awesome but it's a topic that is always up for debate, because everyone's hometown has a restaurant that can cook the best whatever kind of food.
What is not up for debate is that the coast is the absolute best place in the south to gamble all of our money away. Hell.. it's the only place to gamble this far south, and I will do it gladly until I have to start paying real bills. Do you know how many casinos there are from Biloxi to Waveland? A lot.
So if you're not sold on the awesome seafood and the ability to play blackjack until the sun comes up then let me tell you about the opportunities to start a career.
There are over 5,000 businesses in Harrison County alone; law offices, banks, retail clothing, boutiques, restaurants, etc,. Plenty of places to start a career. And with a population of over 70,000, it wouldn't be a bad place to start your own business either. Like a bait shop, we need more bait shops.
Now all of those things are good, but there is one thing that sets the Mississippi Gulf Coast apart from the rest of the state. I'd go as far to say that this is what sets it apart from the rest of the country. The beautiful women.
Like I said earlier, I've been all over. I've been throughout the entire state of Mississippi, all the way up the east coast, the west, Wisconsin, Michigan, you name it and i've been there. I have never seen women that were as beautiful as the ones here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Trust me, I'm not being biased. I used to date a girl from Louisiana.... used to.
When I'm walking around in downtown Gulfport I want to get married every twenty feet.
So this is where I'm staying. A place I can fish for speckled trout, eat good seafood, gamble whenever I want, find a good job, and hopefully find a beautiful wife.
It's hard to get all of those things anywhere else except the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
