My Instagram feed has already been flooded with posts and pictures all pointing out the trials and tribulations of a high school senior entering the second semester. Sometimes it takes me a second to conceptualize the fact that I'm almost finished with school, and that college is on the horizon.
Although I am nothing but grateful to know where I'll be spending the next 4 years after this, with that acceptance letter came a sudden deflation of motivation when it comes to my classes this year. In the past month or so, I've discovered not only how cool the college life seems, but how little I care about Statistics...
With this in mind, it is best to set some short-term goals that can be achieved within the last few months of high school. One of the most effective ways to stay productive is to set a GPA goal for yourself.
Dream big and shoot for the moon! If there is a certain GPA or letter grade you want in a class, write it down, hang it up on your desk and work for it!
You don't want to look back at the last few months and regret how much you slacked off. You need to find something to motivate you or else the next few months are going to simply feel like a waste of time.
Better yet, you don't want to dig yourself in such a deep hole that you have to work to simply graduate. If you don't have a particular interest in raising (or maintaining) your grades, set a goal to get super involved in some extracurriculars!
Find out whether or not you really enjoy gardening, or if you can do something to leave a memorable footprint for yourself at your school for years to come.
If you are in college and know where you're going, then you might as well spend your time doing things that you told yourself you were just too busy to do within the last few years.
No matter what, make those last few months count! Make memories, work hard and don't forget to live in the moment.
