As I grow up and learn who I am and who I want to be, I often think of the dreams I have. There are too many to even count. I want to be successful in every entity of my life. Yeah, it’s a big dream. It is going to be difficult but I want it so badly. I want to be a successful person in what I choose to do with my life. How am I going to accomplish those dreams? Goals! If I set myself goals for what I want to do I believe that some amazing things will happen.

Writing goals has been a very big part of my life. I always seem to be writing my goals down for what I want to accomplish, hoping that my dreams come true. I guess I learned this behavior from my high school coach. Yet again, another life lesson learned from my most treasured activity, running. He would always remind us that we need to write them down and put them somewhere we can see them all the time. I remember this little paper that said that we needed to keep by our beds so that every time we would look at it we would be reminded how we can obtain our dreams. I learned that if I wrote down my goals for my running career I seemed to get better. I was more focused on what I wanted to accomplish and knew what I was actually out there for.

It is amazing how the idea of goal writing has followed me in different areas of my life. Now, I no longer write goals for just my running career but for school as well. I write them for my self-image and for confidence. Most of them are pretty broad like, I won’t compare myself to others. Others are more specific and detailed. I like these the most because they seem to lead me to my dreams the fastest. Goals like these include specific times I want to reach when running a 5k or the grade point average I want.

I take all of these goals and write them on a piece of paper and tape it to my wall next to my bed. Sometimes I take a few goals that I really want to achieve and write them on a note card. I usually put these on my mirror or on something that I look at every day. When I look at them I am constantly reminded of why I run or why I go to school. It’s nice to have a reminder and to always be aware of your dreams.

I feel like sometimes I get lost and I lose sight of my dreams. However, when I choose to write down my goals and how I want to accomplish them I seem to be more in tune with how they all play out. I am able to keep my dreams in sight and have fun along the way. Writing goals is something that will help me to be successful and show me that my dreams are obtainable. I will write my goals down forever.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
