Now on Netflix! A list of new shows sure to fulfill your watching fix. Here’s my take on a few of the shows both joining and leaving Netflix over the month of January.

Joining

1. The Shining

Here’s The Shining, a classic horror made in 1980 which is sure to… keep you on edge for the entirety of the film. The suspense really never ends until the final couple of scenes. But hey, all action and no suspense makes Jack a dull boy, or at least I think that’s what he says.

2. E.T.

Hey, I haven’t seen this onesince I was seven. It’ll be like my first time seeing it.

3. Super Man, and lots of him

My kryptonite is when Netflix decides to add the entire Superman series. I mean, not really but it will be nice to see some fighting and high-flying antics.

4. The Parent Trap

Starring not one, but two Lindsay Lohan. Who’s that again? (She’s so young)

5. V for Vendetta

Filling another vacant spot in Netflix, a vivacious movie about vengeance. You’ll find me voracious while watching this one. No really, it will leave you vexed. I remember watching this one for the first time back in English class because of dystopian themes and what not. It is honestly a really good movie, and it’ll be nice to watch it again. Imagine if someday our country was vicariously living through this movie, you know with Trump’s election and all.

6. Bee Movie

Save my soul. This movie, or meme should I say, has become a trend and speed demon on the interwebs. Now imagine me talking about the bee movie, only every time I say “bee” you have to read this 100x fast and by the time I’m done using the word “bee” there’s nothing left to read. You’ve been warned, look out for this meme. (Oh and if you haven’t actually seen the movie, Jerry Seinfeld is the main bee. Now isn’t that fun!)

7. It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia

This is one of those weird comedy central shows. It’s truly odd, but could make you laugh.

8. Alice Through The Looking Glass

I actually managed to see this one in theaters and let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. It’s like a sequel to the Alice in Wonderland series that Disney is currently making, or something like that. It’s really good!

Leaving in January

1. Hairspray

Sad to see this classic go. It’s like Netflix thinks they can stop the avalanche or something.

2. Law and Order SVU

Absolutely unforgivable. This is easily the best show ever made (rest easy, they’re only taking season 13 off, but honestly they should be adding rather than dropping.)

3. The Amityville Horror

Let’s face it, Ryan Reynolds is way more attractive when he isn’t possessed (but honestly who’s judging?)

4. Saving Private Ryan

Another sad loss, Tom Hanks did wonders with this one

5. Chopped Collection

There's nothing I love more than food, so it's sad to see this cooking show get chopped from Netflix.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
