You made it.

Throughout your 6 years in elementary school, 3 years in middle school, and your last 3 years in high school, you've been through quite a lot. You watched yourself develop anxiety beyond anxiety. You watched friends disappear before you couldn't say "goodbye", and you've watched your life spiral out of control multiple times, yet you fixed those problems that caused the spiraling because you're really freaking strong.

You've overcome thousands of thousands of obstacles because you knew you could, and that's something you should forever be proud of. You've blocked out the toxic people who only made your life miserable, which is something that made you even stronger. You watched peer pressure call you to things you never thought you would do, but because you're strong, you said "no".

But most importantly, although you fell short a couple of times of following the rules you made for yourself, you always stayed true to yourself. You never lost yourself in the things society promoted, or the false advertisements social media posted. You were always yourself, and that's something I want you to never forget how amazing that is.

Because you stayed true to yourself, you got through all those school years and all those obstacles with problems you knew how to fix, problems that may have given you some trouble, but not enough trouble to tear you down. You always rose above those issues and those fake people and stayed TRUE to YOURSELF.

And now look at you.

You graduated high school with a diploma to always look at so that you are reminded of how far you've come, how strong you truly are. And now you're spending a summer with family before going off to college, where you take your first steps of pursuing your dream of being a publisher. You made it to the real world and you'll continue to make it for the rest of your life.

Thank you for always being you and for never forgetting how truly special you really are.

Now, don't stop kicking ass and never stop following your dream.

You've got this.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
