A Series Of Self Reflections: Part 1

Questions about freewill have come up in the past few months.

In such a short amount of time, I reflected on so much. I took time out of my days just to reflect on what I had occurred in the past 24 hours. My favorite places to mask out the world with the use of music was either on the steps of Francis hall, on a nice bench, or at a picnic table in Angelica Park. This became my favorite pastime, especially during this semester. Therefore, I have thought that it would be a nice idea to do a series of interpretations throughout the few upcoming weeks.

Part 1: Here is a question for everyone. What does free will mean to you? Remember we do have rules within society. As my professor said in class, however, rules are meant to be broken.

Part 2: With rules already set in place for you, how might you go about testing society's limits and yours? This is where free will comes into play. My definition of the term Freewill is that we live in a society of limitless dreams and endless possibilities.

Part 3: My definition is not supposed to scare you. It states that no dream is too big and anything is possible throughout life. Life is meant to be scary but this should not stop you. I know that you cannot predict what will happen within the next chapter of your life, but that is okay.

Side Note: I drastically changed my academic plan by dropping a major. It is funny how you can make a decision so quickly and change routes. However, I felt that I needed to experience certain curriculum in the past year to understand where my heart was at.

In conclusion, your life can get away from you where you might have to recheck yourself. It can also change direction. Whatever the case might be, acting upon reflection and incorporating the acknowledgment of free will into your life is a must.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
