Sit down and grab a bucket of popcorn. Here is May’s guide to upcoming movies!

"Captain America: Civil War" (Currently in theaters)

Right in line with the current boom of super hero movies, this is the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Featuring big names like Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., reprising their roles as Captain America and Iron Man, these two are at odds due to a new regulation on superheroes. An intense battle ensues as different super heroes take sides on the new rule and eventually destroy a city somewhere along the line, because is it even a super hero movie if a massive city isn’t destroyed unintentionally?

Although it doesn’t have some of our favorite Avengers like Thor, this movie is jam-packed with action and all-out brawls. If you’ve stuck with the Marvel franchise for this long, then you definitely won’t want to miss this one. As for newcomers, I highly recommend doing some binge watching of at least the "Avengers: movies and the first "Captain America" movie to catch yourself up.

"Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" (Currently in theaters)

A sequel to the popular 2014 movie “Neighbors," this movie follows disgruntled parents Mac (Seth Rogan) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) as they, yet again, have a Greek house move in next-door to them. However, this time it is a group of sorority girls who arguably seem much worse than the frat boys who were there before. Cue a call to Teddy (Zac Efron), the gorgeous former president of the frat who made Mac and Kelly’s lives a living hell in the previous movie. Together they team up to pull tons of pranks in hopes of getting these girls out of the neighborhood.

While I hold serious reservations for Seth Rogan and his "brand" of comedy, if it's anything like the first one, you’re sure to not be disappointed. Along with getting the opportunity to see Zac Efron, from seeing the trailers, there seems to be some pretty good jokes and the same tongue-and-cheek vibe towards Greek life that made the first one so accurate.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" (May 27, 2016)

The third installment of the revitalized X-Men franchise surrounds the impending doom caused by Apocalypse, a mutant who seems to have God-like powers and has been around for centuries. Along with his four horsemen (also mutants), Apocalypse threatens the world’s very existence. On the X-Men side, we’ll see some favorites that have been mainstays in the franchise like Professor X (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Magneto (Michael Fassbender), as well as some new faces like Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).

As a die-hard X-Men fan I can say with total faith that this movie looks really promising, jam-packed with action and cool new powers that we always hope to see with every movie. If you haven’t seen any of the X-Men movies, I would recommend seeing at least "Days of Future Past" to get some background knowledge on the characters. Overall, I think this movie should be pretty amazing!

"Alice Through The Looking Glass" (May 27, 2016)

In this sequel to the wildly popular 2010 “Alice in Wonderland," we follow as Alice (Mia Wasikowsaka) journeys once again down the rabbit hole to Underland. Here she finds that the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) imprisoned in time by the work of Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen) and the evil Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter). Along with other favorites like the rabbit and the White Queen, Alice must save the Mad Hatter before it's too late.

By the trailer, this film appears to be just as trippy as the first one, which is to be expected given the content, and that Tim Burton is directing it. With so much hype and the backing of an A-lister like Johnny Depp, I think this movie is going to be great. I would catch it if I were you because it is bound to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
