This may be just another weekend for some, but for Americans, this is a weekend of mourning. Sunday marks the fifteenth anniversary of the devastating attack on the twin towers on September 11, 2001. We should all take these moments to reflect on the men and women who's lives were lost that day; from airline passengers to the average American white collar employee thinking it was just another day at the office. We stood together in silence as we watched the lives of so many shatter before us. We lost so many heroes that day; from firefighters to first responders who ran in the direction of danger.
The families of all who have lost will never be the same. We must take this time to remember, but most importantly move forward and continue to pursue towards a better future. There is no way to go back in time and erase the tragedy from ever happening. We must never forget and we must continue to build ourselves up fifteen years later. It is hard to believe how fast time goes by but the memories of our lost brothers and sisters will never be extinguished. We must make sure we as a country pass down the lessons we tragically learned on that day fifteen years ago. The enemy thought they could knock us down and kill our spirits.
They may have succeeded for a little while, however, the enemy can never destroy us as long as we continue to remain strong and fight for what we believe in. To all the soldiers and all the veterans that keep us safe and remind the enemy just how strong we are, we salute you. We must never let something of this magnitude happen again. 9/11 has taught us to be stronger and more prepared when it comes to the security of millions of Americans. They hit us once but they will never hit us back because we are strong. As long as there are Americans who believe in our country and have pride, we will always thrive. 9/11 will forever hold a special place in not only our hearts but the history of the United States of America. To everyone mourning, this Sunday we are with you and our prayers are with you. We will never forget September 11, 2001. God Bless America.
Dedicated to all the lives lost and to all the families that must wake up every day knowing that there will forever be a gap in their family.
