Turn on the TV to see the morning news
Parents, teachers, all kinds of voters feeling the blues
It's amazing how fast we can from peaceful to rioting in the streets
Calling out slang like racist, fascist or cheat
It came down to the numbers, t'was fate
American's leaving the country at an alarming rate
I was ridiculed and harassed for not placing a vote into the vault
Whatever the outcome, it would not be partially my fault
For years I was ecstatic to finally have a voice
But that quickly all changed when I needed to make a choice
Choose the self centered celebrity with words hard and heavy like hammers
Or the liar, cheater, and corrupt woman who belongs in the slammer
Protests, rage, fear and distress
Turn our nation to unrest
Certain races shunned aside?
Will LGBT retain their pride
The election was decided
But emotions aren’t subsiding
We move forward but the apprehension’s arising
Anxiety is on the horizon
Let our passion rule the world
Continue to advocate for what we’ve fighting for
