I started my senior year thinking that it would be my best year ever, I would be 21, I would be able to go out, hang out with friends, and overall have more liberty than what I did before. However, reality came crashing down when on the first day of class I already had about a novel worth of stuff to read and assignments to complete.
Between all my classes, by the second week of school, I felt like I already needed a break. So many assignments and readings that needed to be done, and it felt that there was just enough time to complete everything.
About halfway through the third week of class, I started thinking of how foolish I had been, who was I kidding, of course, senior year would not be the best year, it might just be not necessarily the hardest, but for sure the busiest one of the whole student career.
The stuff you're learning is more advanced, as well as adding your senior seminar or project, depending on the degree you're currently in. There is always more stuff that needs to be done, and you just don't have the time to invest your time in something fun.
However, after realizing the fool idea I planted on my brain, I also thought of how this would be my last semester in college ever. I needed to make the most of it, I needed to go out once in a while, half fun, and enjoy my time in college. This is it, the moment I was waiting for, and I knew that no amount of homework was going to stop me from enjoying my last months in college.
So, I decided that with a seemingly good calendar, I could balance everything out: have fun, attend classes, and complete all of my assignments. If college all of these years in college taught me something, that was to learn to manage your time.
Do not let the overwhelming feeling of having too many assignments and not enough time prevent you from enjoying your senior year, instead embrace it, get it done and have fun while doing it.
If I can do it, so can you. Make your last few months in college enjoyable and worth it, after all, those are the last one you're going to get.
