7 Signs Of Senioritis As Told By "High School Musical" Songs

I know every word to every "High School Musical" song ever. Zac Efron was my number one all time crush, and tbh still is. I watched the trilogy last year after I graduated from high school and I had never before felt so connected to the lyrics. Here are the most relatable HSM songs in order from the first movie to the last.

1. "Start of Something New" reminds us all that moving to college is going to change us.

It's all in the title, moving on after high school really is the start of something new. Whether you're moving cross country, to a different region, state, town, or street, adult life is something totally new. At first, it may seem uncomfortable and you're super nervous during the first month or so. But that's okay, change is good.

2. "Get'cha Head in the Game" because you want those scholarships.

Senior year is crunch time! You have to meet all those scholarship deadlines, get all your volunteers hours in, go to those student council meetings, and somehow have time for a social life. You have to make the dramatic choice between filling out applications and hanging out with friends.

3. "Breaking Free" since mom and dad won't be around anymore.

My god, that feeling you get when you walk out of those high school doors forever is the most liberating feeling. You've counted down the days since you walked into that place freshman year until finally four years of built up pressure is released. You're soaring! You're flying! You are breaking free from the stronghold of high school.

4. "Gotta Go My Own Way" because you're probably saying goodbye to many of your friends.

Even though this is the ultimate break up song (rip Troy and Gabriella) it still is incredibly relatable to leaving high school and being only sorta okay with it. Breakups are hard, even breaking up with your high school. You'll miss the basketball games, the football games, seeing your best friends at your locker each morning, the teammates you called family, your favorite teacher, the pep band, the cafeteria, the late passes, and the memories. As Gabriella says, "I gotta leave but I'll miss you (high school)."

5. It's "Now or Never" to embrace everything you didn't up until this year.

If you are competitive in high school, whether it's volleyball, speech team, dance team, football, or a capella, you can totally relate to this song as a senior. Everyone knows that senior year is a year of "lasts" and one of those lasts is your final competition or game and it doesn't come without hard work. You have to fight for it. As a senior, "the way you play tonight is what you leave behind".

6. There will be "A Night to Remember" as a senior.

This song is all about the prom, which if you went is probably a night you'll always remember. But even so, there are plenty of other nights of high school that is pretty unforgettable. Maybe it was the first party you ever went to. Or the first date you ever went on. Or the Friday night when your school won their playoff game. Or maybe it was just a random night with friends that turned into an epic adventure. As senior year comes to an end. all of these nights to remember come flooding back.

7. "High School Musical" reminds you every time you won't be in high school forever.

Ugh, the ending of "High School Musical: Senior Year" will forever make me smile as tears roll down my cheeks. They're celebrating high school and where they've come from. Most importantly they will never forget the friendships they made.

Whether high school was an overall positive or negative experience, you cannot deny the fact that it helped shape you and make you into the beautiful l human being you are right now. How could you forget these "memories that last forever"?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
