Senior Letters: Part 1
Gabrielle Scott

Over the next few posts, I will be thanking the high school seniors who have had such a large impact on my life. I figured that, because they've done so much for me, they deserve all the appreciation in the world.

Dear CayCay,

Holy cow are you amazing. You have shown me time and time again that it's okay to always be yourself. Watching you play Rizzo in Grease made me fall in love with your voice. You taught me that there is no limit to anyone's ability, as long as they believe in themselves. Thank you for teaching me to always be myself and showing me how to find happiness in every situation.

Dear Annabelle,

Meeting you and Rayna has definitely helped me improve my wardrobe, so thank you for that. I appreciate the fact that you're always there to hug me and tell me I will be okay. Even if you have no idea why I am upset in the first place. Thank you for teaching me how to believe in myself and my abilities. I will always be thankful for that.

Dear Rayna,

As I said to Annabelle, meeting you has definitely improved my wardrobe and style, so thank you for that. You have constantly shown me that you can be beautiful, funny, talented and smart at the same time. No one should ever question who you are. Your confidence and personality has never ceased to amaze me. Thank you for teaching me to reach my full potential in whatever I want to do.

Dear Parker,

You gave me the opportunity to bring Beth to life for you and Annabelle, and I will never forget that. You have taught me to never, for as long as I live, dim my talent to try and please anyone. You have made me a better actor and person, not to mention you are always there to be here for me. I am so lucky to have started Take A Stand with you and Liv (and all the other amazing officers). That experience alone has taught me so much. Thank you for teaching me that there is no limit to one's generosity and to go into every experience with an open heart and mind.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
