Here at UIndy, our second semester starts tomorrow, and it's going to be a great semester. I have a lot to look forward to over the next few months, and I can't wait for classes to begin so that it can all get started.

The first thing that I'm excited about is taking my first class for my professional writing degree. I can't wait to really get into the major that are what I want to do for the rest of my life, and I finally get to do that this semester. On that note, my schedule for this semester is the best I've ever had; I don't have any classes on Fridays, and even the other days of the week won't be too stressful.

I'm also going on my first trip out of the country in a couple of months. I'm going on a school trip to England and Scotland with a few of my friends, so that will be a really great trip. I've never left the United States before, and the best part is that I'm going to the place that I've always wanted to travel to.

This semester will also begin my hunt for an apartment. I really want to be able to move out and live on my own next year, so I'm hoping I'll be able to find a place that I can afford and that's near to the school. Living on my own will be a new challenge, but it's one that I feel ready to face head-on. It'll definitely help me to really figure out who I am as an individual without being influenced by something outside of myself.

Overall, this semester is the beginning of what's going to be a great experience over the next few years. I feel like I'm finally going to really get into what college is about now that it isn't just a new experience. I'm so excited to have the chance to really figure out what I'm going to do after college is over, and I hope I'm able to get to that soon.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
