One of the hardest things in this world can be knowing who you really are and what you deserve. I think we all can be just a little too hard on ourselves, and that needs to stop.

Some people have to be the best at whatever they do. Getting straight A's, but one of those A's being an A- could make them disregard the fact they got straight A's and then they feel like a failure. Some people need affirmation from people. The thought of someone not liking them could put them into a million broken pieces. Some people will take everything to heart. You could compliment them as much as you want, but the one negative thing you say or criticism will keep them up at night.

I think sometimes we forget to look at ourselves clearly. Instead, we look in the mirror and only see our failures, mistakes, things people have said about us, our past, etc. We forget to see how great we truly are and all the potential we have to be better. Maybe if everyone were fans of each other instead of critics this world would be a much better place with happier people.

If someone has ever said something to you or done something to you that made you feel less of a person they had no right to do that and they are wrong.

"If you let people's perception of you dictate your behavior, you will never grow as a person" -Mr. Feeny, Boy Meets World.

Imagine if we could see ourselves how we see the people we admire so much or could see ourselves through the eyes of the people who love us the most.

If someone hasn't told you this today. You're smart, beautiful, and an all around great person. Know what you deserve in life and do not settle for less. If anyone is in your life cannot see how great you are or makes you feel less then...they simply do not deserve you or deserve to have a place in your life. Know your self-worth.

"You is smart, You is kind, You is important" -The Help

Stay your awesome authentic self. Always.

(A special thank you to everyone in my life who has been there to remind me of my self-worth, you guys are awesome).

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
