We are living in a time where ladies are struggling with realizing their self- worth. Social media and society have both impacted how women are portrayed by enforcing certain requirements of how their physical, mental, social, and physiological nature should be. Often times this causes feelings of self-doubt and low confidence and leads females to question themselves and their abilities. As a result, some women put on a façade using makeup, hair extensions, and clothes to cover up their flaws.
In addition to this it may cause one to be ashamed of their own skin tone if it does not depict what society approves. Questions may pop up into their heads and they may begin to wonder if they're pretty enough, if anyone cares about them, or their purpose for even being alive. The list is endless, but it is good to look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful inside and out because you're you. God created you so you have no reason to wonder if anyone loves you or if you're good enough.
A lot of women struggle with this constant battle with their personal flaws and insecurities. You have to realize who you are and that God has created you for a purpose because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Robin Robinson, a Tuskegee University student once stated, “It should be our soul duty to be more different than we are alike.” We are all Queens and we should make sure we love ourselves enough so that others can reciprocate love and respect to us as well.
“Self-love requires courage. Have the strength to be who you are in a world that tries desperately to make you different. Never compromise to be who you are not.”
Remember self-love is the best love.
