Ever have one of those days when you feel down, weak, and unproductive? I have those more often than I'd like to admit, but the truth is, we all have (or will) experience a "low" day. For whenever that day comes to haunt you, save this list of universal self-care strategies to boost your mood, increase your stamina, and start feeling more like yourself again.
1. Stretch out!
2. Take a walk or go for a quick jog.
3. Listen to music that makes you sing your heart out.
4. Watch a TV show or movie that inspires or uplifts you.
5. Utilize a diffuser to enjoy your favorite scents.
6. Read your favorite magazine or book.
7. Engage in therapeutic breathing exercises.
8. Unplug from social media and all electronic devices for an hour, and tune into nature.
9. Sit outside (weather permitting) and take in your surroundings.
10. Write for 10 minutes about whatever is on your mind.
11. Make a list if your mind feels unorganized.
12. Take a shower (or sit in a warm bath) just to enjoy it.
13. Splurge on something-- a new outfit, a new hat, your favorite player's jersey. Treat yourself!
