Are you happy with yourself? Are you happy with the relationships you have with your friends and/or your family? Finally, are you able to look in the mirror and say "I love myself for who I am", "I love my body for what it is", or "I love my imperfections for what they are?"
Most would probably shrug the rhetorical questions over their shoulders and say that they were happy with who they were, but in all honesty if you really pondered about it long enough, long enough for the rhetoricality to become more reality, you may come to the realization that you don't. And, being honest again, none of us really do.
Although this seems quite pessimistic, I find that this actualistic phenomenon readily occurs among us all. Whether its getting your dream job or reaching the amount of weight you wanted to lose, your feat is celebrated ... but only temporarily. Our triumphs are never good enough; there's always something higher and farther to reach for. The world is hard enough, I want to remind you that you deserve to give yourself a break.
You may not see it yet, but you are deserving of praise and I am going to give you the praise you deserve.
I want you to begin today with a different mindset than how you've begun every day thus far. Today, I want you to be the gorgeous human being you are. Wear what makes you you and act in a manner that makes you you. Commemorate yourself for the life you have lived and the body you are in. I want you to always remember that you are beautiful and that you are worthy of whatever feats you challenge yourself to do. Praise yourself for your body. Praise yourself for your successes. Praise yourself for doing something new. Remember that you are perfect and things won't always go "according to plan," but you are trying to do your best. Don't sell yourself short; you are doing excellently. Whether we forget ourselves or the world tells you that you are inadequate, its paramount that you keep your head held high and do one thing: Affirm yourself!
