The small city of Seguin is making big moves. Seguin has always been known for the pecans, but it’s soon going to be known for a thriving city filled with great people. Seguin has so many future plans to develop and continue to compete with surrounding areas. Starting with some of the smaller more subtle things such as visual appeals, downtown Seguin is in the process of having a renovated court house which looks incredible. The new sleek modern structure is surrounded by renovated offices and businesses to welcome people to the downtown square. The building still have the same old-unique character to them, but now carry a modern business on the inside. The downtown tree lights were also approved to stay on year round, making downtown more visually satisfying and it’s just beautiful at night seeing the illuminated trees.

Recently a brand new business launched and is thrilling to fellow Seguinites, as we welcomed our first beer brewing company, the Seguin Brewing Co. located about 10 minutes away from downtown. This is not the only business that just opened in our local streets, but recently the Niagara Bottling Company just opened bring more jobs and success to the city of Seguin. Not only visual things are changing but a city slogan was just invested on being a more competitive slogan for surrounding cities. “It’s Real” is making a huge print on the illuminating water tower located on 123 bypass and will have people more curious to see what Seguin has to offer.

ZDT’s is a family amusement park located on Kingsbury Street, has also recently just opened a brand new switchback roller coaster sending riders down a thrill-seeking plunge and a series of turns, then going through the same thrilling turns again, but backwards. ZDT’s is a great place for the families to bring the little ones to enjoy some child friendly rides and water slides. Construction continues all throughout Seguin on the brand new paved walking trail that starts on FM 78 and will eventually continue throughout Seguin going through Park West, Walnut Springs Park, Starcke Park and soon the new public library that is quickly making progress. This path is a safe and great for walking, jogging and biking especially this summer.

The food is also taking a big bite out of Seguin, while there are plenty of dining options that offer a variety of food. Tavern on the Creek located just south of downtown provides classy lunches and dinners with a featured patio to enjoy your meal on. Also the Power Plant located in Starcke Park that sits above the gorgeous flowing Guadalupe River and provides great food and service. The Court Street Coffee Shop also continues to succeed giving the people of Seguin some great local-coffee and local food. They also offer live music on the weekends featuring local artists and it is BYOB. Seguin has just approved for another local coffee shop, the Seguin Coffee Company which will be taking ground soon in downtown Seguin.

All of these things are really starting to show in our small community and its really starting to bring a lot of attention. Not to mention Texas Lutheran University claiming conference titles in multiple sports making the spotlight even brighter on this small town. Seguin is growing, so don’t blink to fast, the small town might be gone as soon as you open.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
