There are six things humans seek: self-actualization, self-esteem, love, safety, physiological gratification, and happiness. Happiness means to be filled with positivity which is a state of joy. We all want to be happy, but sometimes we seek happiness in the wrong direction; either on materialistic items, people, food, etc., the list can go on. Happiness is something that should be found within. Nothing or no one should have the power to take away your happiness. When happiness is instilled in you, it can never be destroyed.
We have once in our lifetime heard someone say, “If you do not love yourself you do not have the power to love anyone else.” This is very true. How can we reciprocate love to someone when we do not even know how to love ourselves. Especially in the twenty-first century with technology being our main source, we do not even take the time to just have personal time with ourselves. Our main source should be God, seeking his love and his spirit to provide us with self-love and happiness as we go through this journey called life. We all need time to just smell the roses, reflect on life, live in the moment, pray, and reconnect with nature.
We are all responsible for our own happiness if you are not happy with something, change it. Don’t allow situations or anyone to control your happiness. “The best feeling in the world is realizing you are perfectly happy without the things you thought you needed the most.” I’m sure most of us have someone in mind we have tried seeking approval from — trying to please them or receive justification from them. Don’t allow them to have that much control over your life. Remember that you are going to have ups and downs but it is up to you how you react. Make sure to put yourself first. You are no good to anyone if you are not taking care of yourself. Take time to learn more about yourself. Your happiness will not only affect you, but it can also bring a smile to someone else. No one or nothing can take away your happiness within. Spread love everywhere you go and be sure to let someone know happiness starts with you.
