Start A Snapchat Streak With God

"I'm an imperfect person living in an imperfect world serving a perfect God." (Psalm 46:5)

I'm sure everyone is familiar with Snapchat by now. It's probably the most popular social media app out today. You send pictures once a day to have what is called a "streak." If you & your friend both don't send a Snapchat within 24 hours, you will lose your streak. The goal is to keep the streak alive. Why? Well, your friend may get mad.

As for many of us the first thing we do when we wake up in the morning is get on our phone and send a Snapchat to keep our streaks going. Also, on top of that the other person has to send one back to keep the streak going. I would be lying if I said I didn't have a Snapchat streak, because I have a lot of them.

Nowadays, were putting the world before God and we should be putting God before the world. All of this got me to thinking "Why do I not make sure to read my bible everyday, but I make sure to keep my Snapchat streaks alive?" I know I'm not the only who who finds myself straying away from the Bible, because I start to put the world before God.

Challenge yourself to start a "Snapchat streak with God". When you wake up or before you go to bed make sure that you have talked to God, prayed to Him, or read the Bible. Make sure you do it every 24 hours for consecutive days and then you will have a "streak" with God. He wants an everyday relationship with you. When we get to Heaven, the highest number of days you have with your best friend on Snapchat won't matter. Your streak with God will matter. If I have time to keep up with all my streaks with friends, I know that I will have time to keep up my streak with God. Make time for Him.

The secret of a happy life is giving God the first part of your day, the first priority to every decision, & the first place in your life."

"What you do in front of people is nothing if you are not living the same life at home behind closed doors." (Matthew 6:5-7)

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
