On either side of the Fontaine Building, and many other historic structures in Columbus, Georgia, and elsewhere, are dozens of decorative stars lining the length of the building. Primarily used for reinforcement, these masonry stars, also known as anchor plates or wall washers, are made in a decorative style due to their visibility.
