I have always wanted to see a Broadway musical. I love the whole aspect of it. My dream is to see The Phantom Of The Opera and I missed the chance to see it when they came to campus. Missouri State always hosts Broadway shows and when the opportunity came to see one that I actually liked, I had to take advantage.

The first time I had ever heard of Les Miserables is when I was in high school. The movie had came out and I thought it was amazing, especially with all the singing being sung live. It takes time and dedication to do what those actors did and I applaud them. The only thing that was keeping me from seeing Les Miserables, was the cost. I did not have the money to pay almost $80 to sit in a decent part of the auditorium. Then my friend texted me about the special that the Juanita K was having. It was a $25 student rush and when I saw that, I knew I had to get my hands on a ticket.

So, I told my boyfriend we were going and he went with me. When we got there, we bought our tickets and waited for the show to start, I would also like to add we got pretty good seats. I was so excited, I have been waiting for an opportunity like this to present itself and I finally snatched it.

8:00 P.M. hit and when the first note from the violin hit the string, I had goosebumps. I smiled and was pinching myself asking if this was actually happening to me. The singers really knew what they were doing, I laughed and sang inside my head throughout the whole show and even teared up at some parts of it too. My boyfriend was so confused for the first half though, he had never heard of Les Miserables and with that, he had no background about it. So, during intermission I explained to him what was happening and he seemed to catch on during the second act.

By the end of the production, I was starstruck. I did not want it to end. The singers were phenomenal! I loved every part of it. My boyfriend also liked it, that is after he knew what was going on and he said the fight scenes were pretty cool too. He then asked if I wanted to go the next night, which was their last show here in Springfield, and I asked if he was sure and he said of course and so we went. I just want to say, seeing it for a second time was as good as seeing it for the first time. I not only went once, but twice! I am so glad I had the opportunity to go and to go with someone who I can make memories with. I hope go to more shows in the future and go to my dream musical. I would say this experience was definitely one for the books.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
