A 'See You Later' To Everyone I Know

Until I see you again.

A 'See You Later' To Everyone I Know
Sam Scherer

In less than a week, I will be going off to Europe for my study abroad. What I already know is that it is going to be an awesome experience and that I am going to make some new friends. But I thought I would take the time to say a brief "see you later" to everyone I know.

First of all I would like to thank my family who supported me and helped me get to where I am. Thank you for all the help with this trip and I will surely keep in touch!

And to my sister who is my best friend. I will miss you a lot. I am sorry that I have to leave you once again but this time I will be much farther away. I know that you are just a text away but I hope that you start off your senior year in the best way. Make sure you do not get too much senioritis like I did and get everything done on time. Good luck applying for college! It is going to be a stressful period of time but I am sure you can do it!

Finally, to all of my friends- at home and from college- I know that I will see you soon and I hope that this fall semester treats you well. For my college friends, I know that I will surely miss you this first semester. It is going to be weird not going to college with you for four months. I will miss you and I look forward to video chatting every week! And as far as my friends from home go, I know that it is harder to keep in touch when we are not together at school but I hope the contact stays the same like it did last year. I cannot wait to share the experiences I have with you when I get home for winter break!

To everyone, remember that it is not goodbye. It is just a "see you in four months". That may seem like a long time, but it is going to fly by!

Love,

Sam

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
