I started working in Security in 2015. Diving right into it, it was one of the best experiences I had in my life and I'm proud to say that it changed me for the better. I go back for training next Saturday.

Working Security means that you're tough inside and out, it shows people that you aren't one to be messed with and you'll get respected for that, kind of.

In security, you'll see a bunch of people take advantage of you. Your job is to stand your ground and say no. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be working security at all.

Security will definitely give you the best attitude adjustment of your life. Security will get you ready for life outside of the job because you'll be able to pinpoint right away who's taking advantage of you and who isn't. You'll learn quickly that there's only so many people you can trust at one time.

You may have trust issues, but it's for a good reason. If you choose to do security, you will learn how to be tough emotionally because you need that in the real world.

Security will make you more alert than ever. It's definitely a stressful job, but it's a fun job. If you're up for it, I challenge you to go try it. You'll have many mentors help you out along the way. The mentors will make sure that you're constantly doing the right thing.

My background is spending two seasons, going on three working at the amphitheater in my hometown. I was in the top tier security for these past couple seasons, meaning the front of stage/barricade. The shows I worked were both fun and stressful but that's what makes me excited to come back every year.

However, you'll have those shows where you feel absolutely defeated. A prime example is the Nicki Minaj show in 2015. We couldn't control the crowd so we were told to let it happen. Other than that, security is controlled and so is the crowd because we have the toughest people working down there.

My point is that security will prepare you for the real world, because the real world isn't so kind, and neither is security. All I have to say is that if you choose to do security, come in with an open mind. After your first season, you might walk out feeling like a different person.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
