A new legacy

Sectionals For The CFHS Black Tigers

It's another swim season in the books. Sectionals was last weekend. Districts is this weekend. And then States. Great times have been achieved by all on the CFHS Black Tiger team and it was truly amazing to watch everyone reach their goals as a team.

Sectionals is the big meet at the end of the year that everyone prepares for. It is the beginning of the state tournament that will decide who advances and who does not. This is what swimmers taper for. This is what we eat healthy for. This is what we lift for and wake up at 4 AM for and everything else.

The Black Tiger Swim and Dive Team is a family, not a team. We showed up as a family and most certainly performed as one. As a team, we have cheered each other on meet after meet. Because of our difficult conference, it has been hard to win dual meets.

But we have not let that brings us down. We are the most spirited team that you will meet. We cheer each other on through every race, through every meet, and through everything that we go through. We tell each other that if we don't lose our voices after dual meets, then we must be doing something wrong.

Nothing of this has changed as we enter into Sectionals weekend. We are depending on each other tremendously during this period and it really helped.

At Sectionals, the CFHS Black Tigers had a 95% success rate, leaving only about 2 or 3 races that either gained time or stayed right at their personal best. We even had a school record broken by a JUNIOR in the Girl's 100 Yard Backstroke! We can't WAIT to see what she does next year.

The rest of the team is just as great as that record-breaker. We have an amazing team that is advancing onto Districts and the team that will be returning next year is working just as hard to fill in the spots of the leaving seniors and stepping up to be another excellent team.

We have started a new legacy at Cuyahoga Falls and it is only going to get better from here on out.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
