They've been here all along, but we just never seem to stop and look around!

There is so much going on here at Villanova that we just don't get the chance to appreciate the features of our campus. In this article, I'm going to wake you up the the more ~secretive~ things on campus.

1. Falvey Memorial Library

Okay I know, I know. Of course you know what the library is. Of course we know that it is a great place to check out books and chat with the amazing librarians. But... did you know that it is a great place to work and study? I KNOW RIGHT. You can go to the library, and if you look hard enough there are tables AND chairs where you can sit down with your books, notebooks, textbooks, and like, laptops I guess. Next time you are in the library to check out a book, see if you can find one of these study spaces for yourself!

2. The Courts at Donahue aka. Spit

We all know Pit right? The dining hall on main campus. What if I told you there was one on South campus as well? That's right, a whole friggin dining hall right on south. If you look in the middle of the circle of dorms, you'll see a huge building with panoramic windows. Inside there is not only a dining hall but also BATHROOMS, and a little store where you can buy things you might need like bananas.

3. Awakening aka. The Oreo

That's right, when you're walking through the middle of campus, between Daugherty, the Connelly Cenenter, and Kennedy Hall, you can see a really beautiful statue. The real name is Awakening, but people call it the Oreo... still. If you want to know why we should STOP this practice, read more here (https://www.theodysseyonline.com/stop-the-oreo-2018)

4. The Basketball Team aka... The Basketball Team

Yep. While you all have been paying attention to the intramural handball tournament or prospective club golf recruits, our Varsity basketball team has been having a pretty heated season. It's crazy how good these guys are and how little attention they get from our student body. Definitely check out a game next time you get the chance!

5. Classes

You really have to look for these but if you go walk through the halls of some of the buildings on Campus, you might see a bunch of students and one older person in there. This is a class. There are actually a ton of them. Throughout the day, I try to take part in as many as I can. I'm currently in the process of trying to witness a class in every building on campus. I've been stuck in Conn for a while now. I don't know why but I can never find a class going on in there. If you want to join me in my hunt, feel free to reach out!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
