1. Set an agreed upon budget

This helps with any unequal gift giving. Some will be disappointed if one person got an iPad while they received a pair of socks. The ideal budget is $10 or below. This allows people to find a few cute things, while not emptying their wallet.

2. Don't share your Secret Santa with others

While you may be okay with telling people who you received, others may want it to be a secret so that they are surprised when it comes to gift giving day. Also, you never know if that person can be trusted. They may go off and tell others and possibly spoil the surprise.

3. Use this website!

https://www.drawnames.com/ makes it so easy to set up a Secret Santa! All you have to do is put in the names of all the participants, assign a budget and gift giving date, and send it to all your participants! It sends your Secret Santa to you, and allows you to put things on your wishlist for your Secret Santa to see!

4. Find the perfect place for cheap presents!

Personally, I always go to Target first. Not everything there is cheap, but at the front of the store is always the $1-$3 section, and around this time of the year, you can always find some adorable things for a good price. Other stores for a low budget present can be Five Below or Forever 21.

5. Not sure what your Secret Santa likes?

If you aren't close with your Secret Santa, and aren't sure what to get them, then just go back to the basics. Think of things that anyone would enjoy. Food is always a hit, whether its a variety of candy or snacks, or a gift card for Starbucks, its bound to be a good present. Another idea is to get into the holiday spirit! Buy some festive items such as socks or ornaments. It's always nice to give something that fits the holiday season.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
