Noun. (plural manstress / man-stris/) (slang) A male equivalent of "mistress" – Urban Dictionary

Synonyms: Lover, Side boo, side piece;

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. “- The Second Amendment

The purpose of The Second Amendment in a nutshell is to declare all citizens to a right to personal protection, protection from invaders (probably damn commies), and protection from tyrannical government (also probably commies).

When we think second amendment, we’re quick to think about guns, but what did the founders mean when they said “bearing arms”? Was it just guns, or was it weapons in general? It seems to be something that we can use for protection, without an individual being able to hurt too many people at once. Of course we all shouldn’t own a nuke. So what’s something that won’t really hurt too many other people, could aid in taking down an oppressive government, and you don’t need a license and a background check for?

Let me personify the Second Amendment.

The second amendment is something patriotic Americans Love and confide in. It’s currently married to Firearms, which not all seem to like.

The second amendment is like a tough-love type of mother, who wants you to know how to fight when a bully messes with you. Whether the bully comes in the form of a junkie trying to stab you with a rusty Philips head screwdriver for the $50 in your wallet, the Russian commies from “Red Dawn” trying to invade, or your own government. No matter the case, you’ll defend yourself cause Momma ain’t raise no B*tch.

Guns are like a father who demands your respect, can help you scare your bullies away, but who also occasionally gets inebriated and knocks some “sense” into you. (Some statistics show you are more likely to use a gun on yourself than for self-defense.) Your dad comes home from a hard day of work at the ole’ factory to watch T.V, drink beer and to eat a delicious dinner (usually smothered n’ covered). Did I mention he has bad knees and lost a couple of fingers way back when, during his early days at the factory? Your dad’s been slacking, and your mom doesn’t feel like her needs are being met anymore.

Although your dad could probably take on the junkie, the problem comes more when your bully’s dad can beat up your dad. The bully’s dad happens to have various trophies from CrossFit competitions, knows how to kickbox, and can bench 225. That would almost be like bringing a semi-automatic gun to an Automatic Gun-Tank-Black Hawk Helicopter-Drone-Nuke fight. Sound familiar?

Your mom got a new job as a secretary at a cyber defense company. Her boss, the CEO, is 6’3”, has broad shoulders, piercing eyes, trimmed dark hair and has size 11 feet, and you know what they say about big feet. He might not know how to physically fight, but then again who needs to when they have a 140+ IQ. Not only is he intelligent, he’s surprisingly kind, and makes her feel things she hasn’t felt in a while. Unbeknownst to anyone else, there’s been attraction between them, maybe even an escapade or two. Your dad just ain’t what he used to be, and things aren’t the same between your parents, and it’s just a matter of time. Sure, the CEO might not beat up a junkie, but he designed a computer virus named STUXNET which secretly took out Iran’s nuclear program. With power like that in a future destined to be brimming with electronics, he’d make a good step dad.

As statistics show, in the very long run violent crimes have a net decrease. It’s not something that the media shows, but that’s a story for another day. There are less junkies out and about, but there are more punks on the internet stealing your credit card info. You’re way more likely to get hacked than to get physically assaulted. It’s easier and you can gain more from it. A gun may protect you from the junkie trying to steal your wallet, but not the kid who just wiped out your life savings at the press of a button.

Wooden spears are to guns what guns will be to cyber weapons. You can take away guns, but you can’t take away knowledge to hack. Chose your defense.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
