The Secret Life Hack To Fix Your iOS 10 Lock Button Problems

With the new IPhone 7 having just come out and our latest iOS 10 update, I decided to make a list of some of the best tips and tricks the iPhone offers us. These life hacks are gathered from numerous sources, and are, what I think, some of the best ones. So, if you already love your iPhone, get ready to love it even more.

1. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button > and turn on “Rest finger to open” This makes is so much easier to use the Touch ID to unlock your phone. Trust me, you will become so much happier with iOS 10.

2. With iOS 10, your Iphone is now smart enough to write down your voicemails for you. Just give it a few minutes to listen, and you will get your voicemail in a cute little paragraph. All you have to do is tap on the icon.

3. You know how annoying it is when you accidentally open a new window in Safari on your phone and you have to close like a billion tabs one by one? Well, with the new update, you can finally close all of the tabs at once!

4. iOS 10 has given us a whole new look when it comes to Messaging, and I have found out that if you download the app called GamePigeon. This lets you play games through your text messages. You can play Battleships, pool, poker -- and that’s just so far.

5. Also in Messaging, you can send cool effects with your texts by holding down the blue arrow next to your message. Send it in invisible ink, large letters, small letters, with fireworks or balloons. You can handwrite things, send gifs or stickers, and so much more. Take the time to play with it. But remember, if your friends haven’t updated their phones yet, they can’t play in these reindeer games. They will simply see the effect in parentheses.

6. This one is cool. Now you can have Siri do even more for you ~ she will announce who’s calling when you get a phone call! Just go to Settings > Phone > Announce Calls and choose when you want her to let you know.

7. The new update also (finally) lets you search for things in your photos. With a whole new design, Photos has been revamped and you can finally find that picture of a dog you took last spring without having to scroll through all of your photos.

8. iOS 10 now lets you REMOVE THE STOCK APPS (and some others). Just press and hold on the app until it shakes like you would to delete any other app, and tap the little "X" in the top left hand corner.

9. You will never lose your car again. The update can detect when you are driving, and then marks the spot in Apple Maps. You even get a notification showing where your car is.

10. You already know this, but I feel like it is important to share anyways. When you’re trying to take that selfie and can’t quite get it right, just press the “Increase Volume” button on the side of your phone, and you can take a more steady picture.

11. This one is an oldie but goodie. If you ever happen to break your iPhone lock button, have no fear, you can still lock your phone. Just go to Settings > General > Accessibility > and turn on AssistiveTouch.

While these are certainly not all of the tips and tricks of an iPhone, it is a quick guide to get more use out of your phone.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
