Power has been a hit television series for at least 4 years now. Since its arrival on netflix about a year ago, Power has grown to be one of the most popular shows on the streaming service. Fans have been waiting about a year since the season finale of the show for season 5. The ending of season 4 left fans on their toes as it was full of major twists and turns. It was confirmed on March 13th 2018 that Power would be returning for a fifth season Sunday, July 1st.
Executive Producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson is back again to wow his fans with a new plot for season 5. 50 cent is also one of the lead characters in the series and he is one to look out for. His role as 'Kanan' serves as a controversial forcing the fans to have a love hate relationship for him. On one hand, he hates Ghost and wanted to kill him but on the next, he still loves him as a brother deep down. We expect to see Kanan and Ghost on the same team next season but will Kanan's intentions be pure?
Tommy is another one to watch for in the upcoming season. We know him and Ghost have their share of ups and downs however we know that they are back on good terms especially since Tommy has more fire power behind him. Tommy's recent connection with his father will be interesting as we already got a glimpse of Teresi's loyalty towards his son by killing a former federal agent held in PC. Finding out how Ghost feels about accepting a former enemy in Teresi will be exciting.
Dre rose to prominence after making a few power moves that involved setting people up to die and meeting with the head of a rival drug cartel. He is a favorable character whom most of the audience wants to see killed. He turned on his organization and is seeking the top dog role. Ghost, Tommy and Kanan set out to hunt him down during the season 4 finale. W
Ghost's son Tariq had an eventful season 4 to say the least. He went from an ignorant, rich priviledged boy to running the streets and avenging his sister's murder. He know understands how to get away with murder and feels like he is ready to run the streets alongside his father. Obviously, Ghost does not want this path for him and will have to convince his son that he is not making the right decision. Hard to do when Ghost does not lead by example.
Finally the relationship between Ghost, Tasha and Angela will still be a big part of the show. If we recall in season 4, Angela ratted out her entire team to allow Ghost to walk free from prison. Tasha wants nothing to do with Ghost and decides to make plans for another life. Everything took a turn when Raina got shot causing the family to regroup and rethink things. Will Angela continue to investigate Ghost out of justice or love? Will Tasha and Ghost become a happy family again? Will Dre become the biggest drug dealer in the NYC? Tune in Sunday, July 1st.
