A History Lesson For Our Boy Spicey

Sean Spicer Compares Hitler to Assad at Monday's White House Press Briefing

To the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer,

I am an 18- year old student at Syracuse University, a freshman with the basic high school knowledge of world history. I am Jewish, currently celebrating Passover, celebrating my peoples freedom. The Jewish people had fought for centuries, escaping from slavery and cruel punishment. But Mr. Spicer, did you know that? Because I can tell you something you didn't know...HITLER USED GAS AT CONCENTRATION CAMPS!

Let's start from the beginning Spicey. At your Press Briefing today, April 11th, you were addressing the Russian government's decision to back Bashar al-Assad on the use of chemical weapons (Sarin Gas) on his own people. During this address, you said:

"We didn't use chemical weapons in WWII. We had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons."

...Are you nuts? You are a 45- year old man, graduated from an acclaimed boarding school, went to college studying Government, and received your Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies. Did you really not know that Hitler gassed the Jews during the Holocaust?!

Well aren't all killings vile? Yes, but Hitler's were especially vile. He would tell the prisoners they were going to take showers only to actually be leaking deathly gases, Zyklon B specifically, to slowly kill them. Other ways included medical experiments and starvation.

So Spicey, as you can clearly see, gas was used, (and most commonly used), to kill inmates at concentration camps. And this brings me to my next point. You referred to concentration camps as "Holocaust Centers"...really? I mean, saying the Nazi's didn't use chemical weapons to kill is one thing. But to not know the name of where the inmates were placed is pure stupidity. You must've watched tons of documentaries in school and college seeing footage from concentration camps, maybe even Auschwitz.

The fact that this open letter has to be written is embarrassing for our country. I've made multiple jokes on Facebook about how the daily press briefing is my favorite daytime comedy on television And you were my favorite host until I realized how ignorant you are!

On a day that Jews are celebrating freedom, Spicey, it was in poor taste to bring up the Holocaust. Next time you want to talk, If you aren't fired by then, please do some research. Chelsea Clinton has some advice for you!

So Spicey, although you went on TV tonight to apologize and attempt to convert what you meant, I can say as a person of Jewish descent, an American, a political junnkie, a journalist, and even a person of common knowledge, you are an embarrassment. We shouldn't be having this discussion. This is basic middle school history. Sadly, the entire White House staff, the Cabinet, and our Commander-in-Chief are uneducated bigots. I hope these next three and a half years go fast or else as a nation, one which is now the laughing stock of the world, will be doomed.

Yours Truly,

Josh

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
