5 Reasons Everyone Needs To Go To Sasquatch Before They Die

I feel like every person on the planet knows about Coachella and almost everyone in California spends most of their year looking forward to it. I have been to Coachella three times and it is a festival unlike any other. I spend the weeks before too excited to focus on anything else. With that being said, there are other music festivals out there that are equally special if not more that don't get nearly enough credit. Sasquatch is located in George, Wash. and is a four-day music festival that falls on Memorial Day weekend every year.

I have had the pleasure of attending Sasquatch for the last four years in a row and I am beyond devastated that due to my summer job, I won't be able to go this year. There are far more than five reasons that Sasquatch will be an unforgettable experience for whoever decides to go, but I'm going to share the five I find most important.

1. The camping experience.

Yes, you can camp at every music festival, but at Sasquatch, camping is legitimately your only option. At Coachella and many other festivals, a lot of people end up staying at villas or houses and shuttling to the festival grounds (which is also what I do), but seeing as Sasquatch is located in pretty much the middle of nowhere, you have to camp. Even those who don't usually like camping enjoy it at Sasquatch because it is SUCH a good time. The party never stops at the campsites and with the walk to the festival grounds not being too far, it's easy enough to come back to your site between concerts.

2. The music.

People go to music festivals for the music (most of the time). People rarely bother spending $300 - $400 on a music festival ticket if they don't like the artists that are going to be there. With Sasquatch's music, you are always guaranteed a diverse lineup with something for everyone. I have yet to see a performer there who has been anything short of excellent. Every performer, especially the headliners, genuinely seem to be so happy to be there and always give it their all.

3. It is not a fashion show.

As fun as it is to get all dressed up for Coachella and spending an hour doing your hair and makeup, it is nice to go to a festival where no one's judging you on what you're wearing or what you look like. At Sasquatch, you can honestly wear whatever you want and no one is going to look at you any differently. People don't spend weeks before Sasquatch planning their outfits and Instagram's like they do for Coachella. At Sasquatch, anything goes.

4. Four days instead of three.

You pay just as much for Sasquatch as you do any other amazing music festival, but unlike others, Sasquatch is four whole days. That not only means one more full day of music, but also one more full day of partying in the most beautiful location with your friends. Even though it's inevitable to be extremely exhausted by the end of the four days, four is always better than three.

5. The scenery.

This is by far my favorite part of Sasquatch and what makes it so unique. Sasquatch is located in the Gorge in George, Wash. and there is honestly no better place to watch a concert than the main stage. The main stage has a huge grass hill beyond the mosh pit area and from wherever you sit on the hill, you get the most amazing view of not only the stage, but of the picture perfect Gorge views behind it.

Sasquatch is honestly my favorite weekend of the year and I can't wait to go back next year. I encourage everyone reading this to go at least once in their lifetime, I promise you won't regret it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
