Ever hear of the television show, "The Office?" How about The Electric City? Yes, we are now talking about the same Scranton, Pennsylvania. Throughout my time home for winter break, I had the opportunity to do things in my hometown, Scranton, Pennsylvania that other individuals would not be able to say that they did. Whether one shops at a small business in Downtown Scranton to search for the perfect gift for someone or visits an art museum to forget about the world around them, there is always something to do in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This city is as a matter of fact unique.

1. The Scenery

The scenery of Scranton, Pennsylvania is quite breathtaking, especially at night. This city is not called "The Electric City" for nothing. If one has the opportunity to view the city from a higher elevation, definitely do it. One will see the city of Scranton looking up to them with an endless amount of array of lights.

2. Local Businesses

Ever hear of Amendolaro? How about Adezzo or Gerrity's Supermarkets? Most likely you did not because these small businesses are only in Scranton, Pennsylvania. If you're looking for a gift to get someone, just try Amendolaro. If you're tired of coffee from Starbucks, head to downtown Scranton for a cup. If you need some groceries, head to the nearby Gerrity's Supermarket, there's actually nine different locations!

3. Attractions

The attractions in Scranton, Pennsylvania are endless. I personally think that the Coal Mine Tour is the most popular, however, there are other numerous popular attractions. If you ever have the chance to visit Scranton check out the Steamtown National Historic Site, Nayaug Park, Montage Mountain, Scranton Cultural Center, or the Everheart Museum.

4. Food

There are a variety of small business restaurants to dine at while in Scranton, Pennsylvania or nearby. These restaurants range from an Italian restaurant to seafood restaurant and a variety of pizza shops in-between. You will never grow old of the food in Scranton simply because the choices are endless.

5. It's Electric

Okay, if you haven't taken a picture in front of this sign at least once in your lifetime then I must ask, did you even go to Scranton, Pennsylvania? Seriously though, this sign just lives up to the name of Scranton, Pennsylvania, "The Electric City."

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
