It's a simple fact that everyone likes free stuff. It's another simple fact that everyone likes the holidays. So, what could be better than getting free stuff during the holiday season? Makeup fans are no strangers to the fact that the things can get pricey after your first or fourth tube of mascara. Thankfully, your favorite brands have created some innovative ways to get the freest of free products that money can't buy. Here's how four of your favorite makeup meccas are helping you score some pretty sweet deals and save a little jingle in your wallet this year:

1. Literally any MAC lipstick shade you want.

The generous makeup gods over at MAC have decided to give us all something to put a smile on our lips about. In their "Back-to-MAC" campaign, beauty addicts who return six designated recyclable MAC containers can receive a free lipstick in their favorite shade. This is your chance to clean out your makeup bag and snag the latest berry red lippies, just in time to look camera-ready for those oh-so-crucial Christmas parties.

2. A free pot of anything at LUSH.

LUSH prides itself on using little-to-no packaging on their products in order to stay eco-friendly. However, it is their beauty scrubs and masks that require that iconic black, chalkboard-esque pot. Just like MAC, LUSH asks customers to return their (often quickly) emptied black pots in order to remain a sustainable, mostly-label-free company. In exchange for five of these little black beauties, LUSH will provide you with a full-sized face mask of your choice! So, stop into your local LUSH and indulge in some well-deserved product testing. Your free mask will feel even better on your skin.

3. A "mini-makeover" at Sephora.

Sure, you could spend $50 and get an entire makeover by one of Sephora's on-staff artists. However, a little-known fact about the local beauty outlet is that you can actually request something referred to as a "mini-makeover." The artist can focus on one feature of your face (think: the perfect natural eye look or a daring, vampy lip). This 100 percent free service makes Sephora an even bigger makeup wonderland than it already is.

4. A bundle of free samples at Ulta.

ULTA, the super beauty emporium, is big on small samples. With every online purchase, customers can opt to receive a small variety sampler of just about anything ULTA sells! Taking advantage of these little gifts is free icing on the cake when you find that coveted package you've been waiting all week for at your doorstep.

We don't buy into these... just like how we don't buy our friends.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
