So, of course, finals are coming up, and chances are if you’re stressed, you should be studying instead of reading this, and if you are reading this, then you hopefully are done with your finals studying. Regardless, here’s some food for thought. Go into those finals, work hard at them like you’re going to do well (regardless of what you consider “well”), and then when it’s all done, just let it go. Later, take a look at your grade and accept what is there, but remember that no matter your grade is, you’ll be fine.
I’ve slowly realize all the things I’ve wanted to do and how much my school work (and normal work to help pay for said school work) has destroyed my ability to learn. Now that winter break is growing close, I’m looking forward to reading a plethora of books, working on my own writing in a number of ways, and playing games I haven’t gotten around to trying with some new friends of mine. School, while teaching me, has drained more out of me than it has given, and I am looking forward to getting a break.
I’ve come to understand that there are more important things in life than school work, even at a college level. There are friends, there is family, and there are so many other things that make you you without any grades being involved at all.
It’s useful to have good grades, but we have our most important, most useful, most life-building experiences outside the classroom.
