With the first week of classes over and the rest of the semester looming ahead, it is the perfect time to turn the page on who you were over the summer, and even who you've been in previous school years, to embrace a state of mind that usually only occurs on January 1st--New Year, New Me... well, more like New (School) Year, New Me.

The beginning of the school year, much like the beginning of the calendar year, is the perfect time for a fresh start. It is the perfect opportunity to show off new clothes, break out the fresh school supplies, and even change around your attitude. Like the resolutions that people make on New Year's Eve, the resolutions of a new school year will help you to start off the year on the right foot. New Year's resolution are typically a little loftier or more long-term than the resolutions that you would make at the beginning of a school year, but that doesn't make them more important; a resolution to lose weight or to eat healthier is just as important as a resolution to actually study for tests or to boost a B- to a B+ or even an A.

For this school year, one of my resolutions is to take better notes and stay more organized. You would think that by the fall semester of my senior year of college, I would be better at taking notes and staying organized, but I'm a hot mess in both of those categories. The majority of the time, I don't even bother to take notes and every year, without fail, I buy a planner than I use for a couple weeks and then never use again. I have decided that this year is going to be different and, at least after this first week, I have stayed true to my resolutions.

It is important to remember that it is never too late to reinvent yourself; if you aren't happy with the way you are--it's okay to change, but you should make your that you are changing for you and not for someone else.

The beginning of the school year is a time to turn the page on who you were and become who you want to be. Who cares if you got Ds in all of your classes last year? Who cares if your backpack looked like all your binders decided to throw up? Does it matter that you gained the freshman 15? NO! All that matters is what you want and setting goals and making resolutions are up to you. So, there is no time like the present to make those changes. Remember--New (School) Year, New You!

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
