Dear World,

It is almost August and we have already started seeing the shelves in stores changing from summer stuff to pencils, pens, note pads, etc. In my opinion, this is the best time of the year. Nothing could make me happier than buying school supplies. And the sad thing is, this is my last year to do so. Until I choose to go to grad school and such. I will be honest with ya'll, I am still going to binge on school supplies, but once I graduate the term will become work supplies... See what I did there?

I do not even really know where my love for school supplies came from. I think because my mom is a teacher and every year we always went to see what all she could get for her class. I just established this love for it because she was always excited so I think psychologically my brain went "IT'S AUGUST, IT IS TIME TO GET PUUUUUMMPED!" But really though school supplies is like the nerd version of fashion week except it lasts for like two months, but it continues as two months of extreme happiness and greatness. The notebooks and pencils and binders will all change and so will I thanks to them because don't forget kids, taking notes is important; no matter how tired you are. Remember to write notes like you're writing them for someone who is not there.

Here we go. You guys get to see into the depth of my soul and get to decided if you guys still want to read any articles after this!

1. Putting everything together for the year is just perfect.

2. When it makes you super excited for school to start so you preemptively start going through your stuff so that you can feel on top of it.

3. Going through you notebook/binder/backpack a million times before school starts because there is just too much excitement to just let it sit there.

4. The initial shock that school supplies are out.

5. Even though you are excited not everyone else is as excited so they have this grumpy look of annoyance on their face.

6. Trying to decided the right notebook for the year is as hard as Christmas shopping for your great aunt who is twice removed.

7. When you have already bought everything for school and now it is just getting ridiculous so you start to limit yourself.

8. Finally, when you cannot sleep because it is the night before and you are way too excited.

There you go. I hope you are all as excited I am for this upcoming school year because it sure is going to be a good one... I can feel it!

Sincerely,

Your School Loving Friend

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
