The Rookie Program

This is for the young beginner and of course the aspiring rocker. Here, first and second grades will learn the basics of pitch and rhythm through fun games and activities.

The Rock 101 Program

Students will focus on one area of study here as they choose their instrument: guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, or vocals. Practicing, fun? Yes it is! This program is nothing close to traditional or boring. Both the fundamentals of music theory and their application to popular music are taught. School of Rock offers both private and group lessons on a weekly basis to reinforce students’ skills and to give them the opportunity to grow as musicians.

The Performance Program

This is the icing on the cake, as students learn how to transition their skills acquired during lessons to the stage. They learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration as those are two vital components of being in a band. Following their success in this program, students will have the amazing opportunity to audition for the School of Rock AllStars. Acceptance to this group means touring the country performing just like a famous band would. This makes School of Rock truly a unique from any other music school.

There's nothing like being taught by industry professionals! School of Rock certainly has it all as instructors are not only educators, but also professional musicians. These talented individuals share their expertise on creating music, as well as how to strive in the real world as a star. Students are taught primarily rock and roll and are given the chance to perform at historic venues nationwide for live audiences. Performance-based music lessons are rapidly growing in popularity, as they are proving to produce successful musicians. More importantly, they can be found locally at School of Rock Montclair.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
