I live a short twenty minutes down the main road from Villanova, and when I was applying to schools in high school, I would have never thought I'd stay relatively the same area. I wanted to go somewhere far away and build my new home in a brand new city. However, upon certain fortunate events, I committed to Villanova, and I have no regrets.
1. Random family visits
Giphy*sits down in class*
Call from Mom: "Hey, I'm stopping by in a little, are you free?"
2. Going home is extremely easy
Giphy...almost too easy. On move-in day freshman year, the shared showers freaked me out, so I just went home, showered, and went back to school! I also spent the weekend of finals at home because I could use my big old desk and study the way I wanted to without any distractions.
3. Free! Food!
GiphyI'll come home from a weekend or just a day at home with bags full of food, or sometimes when my mom randomly stops by (number 1), she'll bring takeout for me and my roommates.
4. You end up packing way too much.
GiphyEven if you don't pack that much initially, you always end the year with so much more stuff. I start bringing things from home in small amounts and eventually it just accumulates into another huge load of stuff to pack.
