When Your School Is On A Bye Week

Don't cry, there's always a game next week.

The worst weekend in all of college football is upon us. Our team is on a bye week which leaves the whole school with a vacant Saturday. What is there to do when the Seminoles aren’t playing? What do we have to occupy ourselves?? Actually, there’s a lot to do that will fill the hole in your heart that is watching the Seminoles barely win in Doak. We still love you, just c'mon boys lets get it done.

1. Go Back Home

See this may be easier for some, but is definitely a possibility. Grab some friends, hop in a car, and drive however many hours it’ll take to get a hug from your mom. There’s nothing better than a home cooked meal and someone to do your laundry to fill the void of a game-less Saturday.

P.S. lets just talk about how PLL is finally ending. Stopped watching but still breaks my heart to see it go.

2. Study? Possibly? Maybe?

Usually your weekends are planned to a T. Saturday is for the boys (aka game day) and then Sunday is where you finally get to all the homework and studying you had all week to do. However, now there’s one WHOLE extra day where you can devote to studying. Yes, I know it’s not the most fun, but it’s the most practical. You can even turn it into a fun game where for every page you reward yourself with candy, or whatever treat those over 21 desire.

3. Binge Binge Binge

PERFECT! No game means that it is a whole day you can crack out a season (or three) of your favorite TV show, or even finally start a new one. Since midterms are over and everyone needs a way to relax, binging a show is the perfect answer. Personally, I highly recommend watching Gilmore Girls before the revival hits Netflix next month. You can cuddle up in the morning with a cup of coffee, and keep chugging all weekend long.

4. Try and watch another team, even though it isn't as good

If you truly need your football fix, there’s actually other teams that play. No one is as fun to watch as the Seminoles, but there are a few other schools that could get you your fix. Sadly, the Gators are on a bye week as well so you can’t watch them face defeat, but as long as you root for anyone in the ACC conference to lose, your still rooting for the Noles!

5. Sleep and Decompress

Midterms got the best of everyone, so basically that meant hours of studying and crying. Now that they’re over it is the perfect opportunity to sleep for hours. You can sleep away the day because it’s not like you’re missing a viewing party or Nole victory. Just give yourself the royal treatment and totally decompress. Lay back, relax and maybe catch some Z’s.

You may not think so, but not having a game could be beneficial. This gives a weekend for everyone to unclench their fists, and take a breath because we are ranked 13 and only climbing up. The next game against Clemson will be tough, but nothing is ever too tough for our Noles. Always remember- we some dawgs, we ain't no puppies. GO NOLES!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
